Jo Failer: “I simply forget. My living legacy"

This reading is more than a book presentation. It is an invitation to see dementia from a different perspective. An event hosted by the SyNergy Cluster, Desideria, and the Alzheimer Gesellschaft München (welcome address by SyNergy member Christian Haass, moderated by Daniela Noack).

Jo Failer will read from his book "Ich denk nicht dran". Ein Vermächtnis zu Lebzeiten (published by dtv). Released in mid-March, it has already become a SPIEGEL Bestseller.

A deeply personal insight into life with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis at a young age. A book about what remains when memories begin to change – and about how much joy in life is still possible nonetheless.

When Jo Failer receives an Alzheimer’s diagnosis at the age of 51, he is in the midst of a full and active life. His book is a courageous attempt to make visible what often remains hidden – in words that move readers, inspire reflection, and at the same time offer hope.
