Anne Wöllmer, together with Christine Wild-Bode, developed a comprehensive course on Alzheimer’s disease for LMU medical students. The curriculum covers the full spectrum – from fundamental research to clinical and caregivers’ insights. It is hosted on an eLearning platform (Moodle) and features innovative tools such as storytelling, interviews with researchers, screencasts, and self-produced educational films. The course is further enriched with review sessions and quizzes to consolidate knowledge. A very flexible structure allows Alzheimer’s research to be integrated into various stages of the students' academic journey.
SyNergy Translational Track
The “SyNergy Translational Teaching Track” aims to introduce medical students — both in the preclinical and clinical phases of their studies — to the fundamental concepts and scientific approaches in neurodegeneration research. The program intends to encourage outstanding students to pursue their M.D. thesis work in SyNergy labs. The recent lab week is also part of the“SyNergy Translational Teaching Track”.
“Harald-Mückter-Lehrinnovationspreis”
Each year, the Faculty of Medicine of LMU reviews their courses and awards the course that stands out most and is innovative with the Harald-Mückter-Lehrinnovationspreis.
