Diversity and inclusivity are essential in creating effective and synergistic research teams. Our SyNergy Gender Equality Program aims to promote the career progress of women in science and ease the burden of parent scientists for a better reconciliation of family life and scientific work.

We offer the following support:

• A structured mentoring program, where female SyNergy scientists are mentored over a one-year period by senior members of the Cluster, accompanied by training and peer-support events within the mentee group.
  
• Travel Grants to facilitate the participation of female scientists at conferences, methods, and lab management courses.
  
• Post-Doctoral Awards, to award outstanding female scientists as recognition and to provide seed funding for first independent research projects
  
• Childcare Support for parent-scientists, to allow them to return to work early in parenthood.
  
• Support during pregnancy and early motherhood via student assistants
  

In all of these support programs, SyNergy collaborates with our host institutions.
